Written answer: Problems with varifocals
I have new varifocals. I accept that it takes time to acclimatise to them. The centre to right side with elite lenses is very clear. The left side is not. I took them back to Specsavers and they checked the eye to eye measurement.

Video and written answer: Causes of dry eye
I have ‘dry eyes’ (my tears last seven seconds instead of 10-15, so it seems to be a ‘quality’ issue as opposed to a quantity one) and am currently trialling silicone hydrogel contact lenses (Acuvue true eye and some new ones that have just come on the market, my optician has ordered them for me).
Written answer: Woke up with severe pain in one eye for a few moments
This morning I woke up after a very broken nights sleep (I have an eight week old baby) and my left eye was incredibly painful for a few moments, it watered a lot and I couldn’t keep my eyelid open (it felt very dry even though it was watering a lot!) since then (five hours later) I have blurred vision in that eye. I am worried that I cannot see properly from this eye. I was extremely tired last night and my eyes were itchy. I would appreciate any advise.
Written answer: How long does an eye test take?
How long should an eye test take as I have an appointment booked and need to be somewhere else an hour and 30 minutes later. I’m wondering should I reschedule the eye test?
Written answer: Do I really need new glasses?
I had an eye test yesterday at Specsavers. I have glasses but don’t wear them much. However I was getting greater lack of focus so had an early test. My prescription was described as having a ‘step’ worsened. I asked if I really needed new glasses but wasn’t really given an answer, nor was I told when I needed to wear my glasses – I did ask.
Written answer: Sudden intermittent blurred vision
I have been experiencing sudden intermittent blurred/out of focus vision.
Written answer: Vision goes randomly out of focus
For a few months I have noticed that my eyes go out of focus randomly. It’s particularly happening when I drive. I have to really concentrate to re-focus. It’s happening more and more throughout the day also. I went to the optician not that long ago (I didn’t mention that problem). My eyes were fine. He did notice that I had a bit of double vision. He asked me to do exercise putting one finger in front of me and bringing it closer trying to focus on it. I do this exercise but not faithfully. Would this exercise fix my focusing problem in itself ?
