Dizziness when scrolling down pages on a computer screen

Question

I get dizziness when scrolling down an internet page or word document. This leaves me feeling pretty blurry and dizzy. I don't have any trouble's reading text on a PC screen, or blurry vision. Does everyone get this? It makes computer use very difficult.

I also get dizziness from camera changes when watching TV. Finally, I get dizziness watching or playing a 3d videogame, where the fixed camera moves left and right a lot.

Qualified optometrist Simon Kay BSc(Hons) MCOptom answers this question.

To some extent this is normal, as our eyes are not designed to read scrolling text, probably because the eye movements are different then reading text in a book. With long documents a lot of people prefer to print them first and read them as a normal paper document. However, there could be an optical/refractive problem with your eyes that may help to correct, so I would advise an eye test.
